The same gaylord,
one trip in.

A once-used gaylord is a full-size bulk corrugated container that has made one trip and been inspected for reuse.

Once-used gaylord boxes stacked on pallets in a Rebox distribution centre, with a forklift moving one unit.
01

What is a once-used gaylord?

A gaylord: the pallet-sized corrugated bulk container used for storage, fulfillment and internal shipping. Ours have run one trip.

02

Is it as strong as new?

Yes. If it is not fit for another use, it does not ship. Our customers use gaylords for facility-to-facility shipping, storage and non-consumer-facing loads.

03

What sizes?

You tell us what you need and we source it. Regular stock includes half, full, square and octagonal in 2–5 ply, with full bottom, no bottom or full flap.

04

How to buy

Tell us your size, wall construction, bottom style, monthly volume and delivery location. We work with you to find the best fit for your operation.

How buying works

From first contact to active program — three steps, no procurement runaround.

01

Tell us what you need

Product, load weight, preferred size, wall and bottom style if known, monthly volume and delivery location. You do not need every spec up front.

Product or material Load weight Preferred size Wall & bottom style Monthly volume Delivery location
02

We check your region

We look at available supply and the distance to your operation, matching dimensions, construction, bottom style and condition to your load. No exact match? We recommend the closest fit that still works.

03

We confirm price and delivery

You get pricing, freight, lead time and delivery. For repeat needs we plan standing supply around your volume — most buyers keep gaylords on a recurring program.

Common Gaylord Boxes We Source

Rebox sources Gaylords in a range of sizes, wall constructions, and bottom styles. The right option depends on what you are moving, how much it weighs, and how the box will be handled.

Double-Wall E-Commerce Gaylords

Tall Gaylords for lighter, bulky products such as soft goods, paper, retail returns, and loose inventory.

Common sizes include:

48 × 40 × 60 with a partial bottom
48 × 40 × 72 with a partial bottom

These are the most commonly sourced Gaylords in the Rebox network.

Full Interlock Bottom Gaylords

The bottom flaps overlap and lock together to provide added structure during storage and handling.

A common option is:

48 × 40 × 40 in double-wall or triple-wall construction

These Gaylords are often used for paper, plastics, manufacturing materials, and general warehouse handling.

Heavy-Duty Gaylords

Heavy-duty 4–5 wall Gaylords are built for dense materials and demanding industrial applications.

A common option is:

48 × 40 × 40 with a full or partial bottom

They are commonly used for dense plastics, metal, scrap materials, and heavier recycling streams.

Gaylord questions, answered

Sizes, wall construction, weight limits and shipping distance — the specifics buyers ask us before their first order.

A full bottom provides more complete coverage beneath the product. A partial bottom has less coverage and relies more heavily on a pallet or other stable base.

Lids are not normally stocked with once-used Gaylords. Rebox may be able to source or make new lids when required.

Most programs work best when Gaylords are sourced regionally, typically within approximately 250–500 miles of an available supply location. The practical shipping distance depends on the Gaylord construction, order quantity, supply location, and freight requirements. Our team will confirm whether the freight distance makes sense for your order.

Gaylords with an approximate 48 × 40 × 40 footprint and 48 × 40 × 72 double-wall e-commerce Gaylords are among the most commonly sourced options in our network. Other sizes and heavy-duty constructions depend more heavily on regional supply.

Double-wall Gaylords are best for lighter materials such as paper and soft goods. Triple-wall works well for medium-duty materials such as plastics. Heavy-duty 4–5 wall Gaylords are used for metal, dense plastics, and other heavy materials.

Our boxes are once-used, which means they were opened once at a manufacturer and never used for outbound shipping. Every box in our network is inspected for quality before it reaches you. They're structurally sound and built to protect your goods through another full shipping cycle. For most internal or facility-to-facility applications, you won't notice a difference (except for a reduction in costs). Once-used is the most sustainable and cost-effective option for your corrugated packaging needs.

Typical load ranges include:

Double-wall500–800 pounds
Triple-wall1,000–1,500 pounds
4–5 wall2,000–2,500+ pounds

Actual capacity depends on the box condition, bottom style, pallet support, product density, stacking method, and handling environment.

Most customers request an approximate 48 × 40-inch footprint with a height of around 40 inches.
